Nigeria to open up political space for young people in 2019 Election

As the 2019 general decisions move close to, the Federal Government says it will suit more youngsters in the running of the nation.

Priest of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Solomon Dalung, who expressed this in New York at the Seventh Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum at UN Headquarters, said the young people were presently requesting more space to take part in administration.

Dalung stated: "The 'Not very Young to Rule' law in Nigeria is a show of the Nigerian country assurance to open up the political space to suit the youngsters.

"Youngsters today are asking: where is simply the space for them to express? They are asking the legislators – where is the space for their investment in administration?

"They are asking the business group – how are you coaching us to guarantee between generational change? They are asking arrangement creators – why are you arranging our future without counseling us?

"They are asking the United Nation: when will our space exist for us to take an interest".

As indicated by him, the case for dire, participatory, and comprehensive engagement with youngsters has never held as much potential for return as now.

As indicated by him, youngsters, if engaged, either as people or through their associations or work places, are gainful power that can enhance their groups.
